Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, Arizona Wednesday, December 28, 2011 Fay York Hunter, age 92, of Globe, Ariz. passed away on Dec. 10, 2011 at Arizona Regional Medical Center in Mesa, Ariz. She was born in Pleasanton, N.M. on March 18, 1919, the daughter of George and Mildred (Darnell) York. Fay moved to Globe coming from Oregon after living there for 12 years. She and her husband developed and started the saw mill in Cutter which later was sold in the early 1960’s. They then bought and began to develop the Crestline area. Fay loved to paint and was an accomplished artist. She enjoyed playing golf and traveling. She was a loving homemaker, keeping an immaculate home and yard. Her happiest times were being with her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Hunter. Fay is survived by her son, Bryan (Karen) Hunter; her daughters, Aaron F. McCarey and Rana (George) Hunter-Williams; seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held in private. Interment was at Globe Cemetery. Assisting the family; Lamont Mortuary of Globe.
