JEAN, SR., David Ewing


The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Friday, July 18, 2003 David Ewing Jean Sr. of Brentwood and Lewisburg, Tennessee died July 5, 2003 at the age of 88. He was a veteran of World War II and retired from the State of Tennesssee where he served as commissioner. Mr. Jean led an active life in politics and was well known as a Tennessee historian, religious philosopher and philanthropist carrying on an old family tradition. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Gabard Jean, daughter Nell Jean and husband Tom Mitchell of Mesa, Arizona; one son David Ewing Jean, Jr. of College Grove, Tennessee and four grandchildren, Tiffany and Todd Troidl of Mesa, David Ewing Jean, III of College Grove, Tennessee and Dana Jean of Palm Beach, Florida. He was preceeded in death by his grandson Ty Troidl. Funeral services were held in Lewisburg, Tennessee on July 9th. Also submitted to East Valley Tribune on 07/23/2003.
