MADARIAGA, Beth Anne


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 12/30/2011 Beth Anne Madariaga 76, longtime resident of Springerville died Dec. 22, 2011 in Tucson. She was born June 28, 1935, in Indianapolis, Ind. Anne was a journalist and reporter at the White Mountain Independent newspaper. She was the bookkeeper and co-owner of the El Rio Theatre in Springerville. She was a loving wife and mother of three children. Anne was a very generous person with her time and energy and was a well established and respected member of the community. Anne enjoyed traveling, the ocean, mountains and meeting new people. She hosted several foreign exchange students. She was an avid reader and author of several unpublished books. Anne is survived by and will be greatly missed by her husband, Sam; three children, Kirk and his wife, Janice Madariaga of Paonia Colo., Renee and her husband Bob Carrizosa of Tucson, and Michelle and her husband Larry Schwartz of Dolores, Colo.; seven grandchildren: Valerie, Melody, Sean, Bryan, Ethan, Brianna, Sierra and one great grandson, Charlie; and brother Jim and his wife Karen Butchart of N.C. Anne was preceded in death by her parents Dr. John Harvey and Roma Butchart.
