FIERROS, SGT., Thomas (David)


The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Sunday, July 20, 2003 Retired Sgt. Thomas "David" Fierros, born on July 9, 1946, passed away on July 14, 2003 in Phoenix, Arizona. A decorated veteran of the United States Army, he fought gallantly in the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1967. Through his bravery and heroism, he earned the Bronze Star medal with Valor. He is survived by his children: Tom Fierros, Gina Fierros-Burge, Gloria Ann Fierros, Celia Denee Penn, Anthony Michael B. Fierros; Grandchildren: Erika Burge, Blake Fierros Jacobsen, Jackson Burge, Vincent Patrick Penn, siblings: Bobby Fierros, Carlos Fierros, Consuelo Sesma, Danny Fierros, George Fierros, Greg Fierros, Isabell Elycio, Jesus Fierros, Joe Fierros, Lupe Sotelo, Roy Fierros, Ruben Fierros, Rudy Fierros, Terri Lucero, Vicki Mora. He is preceded in death by: parents, Braulio and Eva Fierros, brothers, Braulio and Fred Fierros, sister, Frances Estrada. He will be greatly missed by many "many" loving nieces, nephews, compas, comadres and dear friends. Viewing will be held Monday, July 21, 5-8pm at Holy Family Catholic Church, 6802 S. 24th St., Phoenix with a rosary at 7pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 8:30am, Tuesday, July 22 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Internment will follow immediately at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Fierros name can be made to the American Legion Post #41, 715 S. 2nd Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85003.
