Richard Ellwood Mulhern, Sr., 79 Passed away peacefully at his home in
Tempe on Saturday, July 19, 2003. He was born in Wichita, Kansas in
1923. He served our country as an Army Air Force fighter pilot during
the WWII, He graduated from the University of Colorado had a successful
30 year career as an architect/ developer. While attending college he
met and married Veronica Lee Turgeon. They had 12 children - six boys
and six girls. They moved the family to Tempe in 1969 and remained here
the rest of their lives. Veronica passed away in September of 1998. The
couple was married for 49 years. Richard is survived by his children
Michael/Sharla, Richard, Jr./Liz, Patricia/ Darrell Nance, Peggy, Mary,
Kathy, Libby Miller, Bob/Tina, John, Tom, Paul/Jessica and Carolyn, 30
grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and William Mulhern (brother).
Services will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd at Holy Spirit Catholic
Church in Tempe at 9:30 a.m.
Burial will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Mesa.
