Jose (Joe) Estrada, 68, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011 surrounded by family and close friends. He was born on March 19, 1943 in Lompoc, Calif.
Joe was the owner of Estrada Pumping in Lake Havasu. In the 22 years he lived in Lake Havasu Joe will be remembered for mentoring many young men in concrete construction. He did every job with pride and excellence and he will be missed by all who knew him. Joe was one hell of a fighter, but cancer is one illness which can knock you down and consume all your spirit and grit. One thing about Joe is that he lived his life his way and we will always remember his generosity and lively spirit. He loved his Bud lite and cigarettes as he watched NASCAR and shared this pleasure with all those who visited his home. His kindness and love for everyone will not be forgotten by those he helped. Joe will be missed by many.
Joe is survived by his loving wife, Teresa (Teri) Estrada, his son Joseph A. Estrada, his daughters Amy Estrada and F. Suzanne (Johnson) Szabo, as well as his mother Amparo Estrada, sisters Mary Rodriguez, Josie Carlentine, Margrert Lara, Linda Tovar and brother Rudy Estrada. Joe always loved and welcomed his grandchild Colleen M. Estrada, Amanda Estrada, Aurora Garcia, Justin Estrada, Christopher Estrada. He also leaves behind great grandchildren Jaidyn Trevino, Jewels Valdez and Jakob Esparza. He was preceded in death by his stepson, Raymond Lee Johnson.
A celebration of Joe's life will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 07, 2012 at Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary in Santa Maria, Calif. Thoughts, memories and condolences can be sent to the family at www.lakehavasumortuary.com.
