Carmen L. Giglio, a beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011, after a long battle with cancer. He was a Kingman resident since 1968. Carmen was born Dec. 27, 1937, in Follansbee, W.Va., to Joseph and Rose Giglio.
He graduated from Follansbee High School and was a distinguished member of the 1954 State Champion "Blue Wave" Football Team. He was a nearly 30-year employee of the Riverside Resort and Casino, where he loved to work and so many, many people would come to see him. Carmen was very proud to have been inducted into the Arizona Softball Hall of Fame. He was responsible for bringing national championship tournaments to Kingman for nine consecutive years. He was also an ASA commissioner, ASA Arizona State president, sponsor, umpire and ambassador.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie; daughter, Bridget Trull; son, Brien Giglio; grandchildren, Joshua Trull, Elizabeth Giglio and Paul Giglio; daughter-in-law, Stacy Giglio; brothers, Val Giglio and Pete Giglio; and sisters, Rosemary (Bob) Donnelly and Christine Costain.
Per Carmen's wishes, there will be no services and a memorial has not been scheduled. Cremation is being handled by Sutton Memorial Funeral Home.
The family wishes to thank the Kingman Cancer Care, KRMC Joan and Diana Hospice and the countless close friends he developed. Dad was the epitome of a "people person." He would talk your ear off, especially about sports, or give you the shirt off his back, and he will be dearly missed.
