Robert Painter Former Resident Dies in Phoenix
Robert R. Painter, who lived in Wickenburg during World War II and for several years after, died in St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix last Friday, following a heart attack. He was 40 years of age.
A native of Columbus, O., Mr Painter came to Wickenburg 18 years ago from Mansfield, O. He was employed at the Claiborne Flight Academy west of town during the war. Later he acquired the land and built the Journey’s End Ranch which he disposed of on moving to Phoenix 11 years ago.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning of this week at the Mercer Mortuary in Phoenix and burial followed in Greenwood Memorial Park.
At the time of his death, Mr Painter was a maintenance man at Phoenix Central High School.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; a daughter, Cynthia, and a son Tommy, of Phoenix; his mother, Mrs Reid D. Painter of Mansfield, and a sister in Florida.
