The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ September 11, 1959, p. 1 Yancey Martin, Former Resident, Dies In Phoenix Yancey M. (Zeke) Martin, former resident of Aguila and Wickenburg, died in Phoenix September 2. Funeral services were held in that city last Saturday. Mr Martin, born in Atlanta, Ga., 65 years ago, came to Arizona 48 years ago and settled in Aguila where he was in the cattle business. He later moved to Wickenburg and managed what is now the Foxworth-Galbraith Lumber Co., which was then owned by the Brayton Commercial Co. When Brayton’s sold the lumber yard, Mr Martin went into the construction business. In 1940 he moved to Phoenix where he continued to be a building contractor. In Wickenburg, the Martin family lived first in the home at the corner of North Jefferson Street and the California Highway where Mrs Ed Hill now resides. Later the family moved two blocks north on Jefferson. Mr Martin served in the Army during World War I and in the Navy during World War II. He was a past grand master of the Masonic Lodge here. Surviving are one son, Robert, of Bagdad; two daughters, Mrs Roy Lowry, Jr., and Mrs Rodney Price, both of Phoenix; the mother, Mrs Y. M. Martin of Houston, Tex.; one brother William of Dallas, Tex, two sisters, Sarah Martin of Houston, Tex., and Mrs G. W. Randall of Dallas, Tex.; and 10 grandchildren.
