Louis Charlebois Former Resident Died in Parker
Louis Charlebois Sr., 77, who lived in Wickenburg for many years prior to 1944, died in Parker October 8 of a heart attack. The body was shipped to Glendale, Calif., for services and burial.
Mr Charlesbois purchased the Baxter Hotel, changed its name to the Charlebois Hotel, and operated it until the property was sold to the late Everett Coxwell. This hotel was then located where the Rancho Grande Motor Hotel office is now located. The Charlebois children were raised here and Mrs Charlebois was once a member of the School Board.
Mr Charlebois, who owned cattle and sheep ranches near Mayer, Flagstaff and Parker, left here in 1944 for Flagstaff and about eight years ago moved to Yarnell.
He was a veteran of the Spanish – American war, was vice-president of the Arizona Pioneers Association, was a former president of the Arizona Wool Growers Association, and was a member of various state cattlemen’s association.
Surviving are the widow, Margaret; two daughters, Mrs Mary Drew of Glendale, Calif., and Mrs June Brooks of Phoenix; and three sons, Louis, Jr., and Arthur, both of Blythe, Calif., and Joseph of Arlington, Calif.
