James Hartness Funeral Monday
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 Monday in the Fort Whipple Chapel, Prescott, for James Cameron Hartness, Yarnell resident, who died in the Veterans hospital there Tuesday night. He had been admitted to the hospital three days earlier following a heart attack. Burial will be in the national Cemetery at Fort Whipple.
Mr Hartness moved to Yarnell in December, 1953, from Tampa, Fla., where he had been a consulting engineer for many years. Prior to that, he was a consulting engineer for the U. S. Steel Co., in Minnesota. He was a graduate of the Michigan College of Mining & Technology, a member of Tau Beta Pi, national engineering honor fraternity, and served as a major in the engineering corps during World War I, spending two years in France. He was born in Detroit, Mich., August 7, 1883.
Survivors are the widow, Maud, and one daughter, Mrs Joe Lyles, both of Yarnell, and two sisters, Marian Hartness and Mrs Margaret Bowersox, both of Clinton, IA.
