The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ December 25, 1959, p. 8 James Triplett Was Found Dead In An Old Mine Graveside services were conducted in Wickenburg Cemetery Saturday afternoon by Dr. Charles S. Poling for James A. Triplett who was found dead Thursday of last week in a mine about 11 miles out of Morristown on the castle Hot Springs road. Mr Triplett, who had lived in Humboldt for the past 35 years where he was a farmer and miner, had been missing from his home since December 10. Pat Sayer, Skull Valley prospector, found the body while exploring the entrance to the old Robinson Mine. A group made up of Coney Orosco, Junior Hershkowitz, George Hershkowitz, Art Castro, Dick Savage, Dave Carter, Bob Tshudy and Bob Beasley went to the scene and removed the body which was taken to a Prescott mortuary. Death was from natural causes. Mr. Triplett, a native of Missouri, came to Arizona in 1923 and settled in Lonesome Valley. Local residents will remember him as the prospector name “old Joe” in the “Trigger Gold” movie which was filmed in Wickenburg with local residents as actors several years ago. He was 83 years old. Survivors include the widow, Mrs Betty Triplett of Wickenburg; four daughter, Mrs James Robertson, Ojai, Calif., Mrs Same Fite of El Paso, Mrs Blanche Wallace of Humboldt, and Mrs Harold Jensen of Wickenburg; a son, Howard Triplett of Humboldt; and 13 grandchildren.
