LOMBARD, Darryll William


Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Saturday, December 31, 2011 - Darryll William Lombard passed away Dec. 28, 2011 in Lake Havasu City, at the age of 71. He was born to Francis and Emma (Dufrense) Lombard on Jan. 21, 1940 in Pocatello, Idaho. Darryll served proudly under the direction of the United States Army, enlisting on Sept. 10, 1959 and was honorably discharged on Sept. 7, 1962. Darryll graduated from Humboldt State College in June 1971 earning his Bachelor of Arts. In January of 1995, he retired from the Federal Government Department of minerals Management. He also worked as an accountant for the government for 30 years in the departments of Labor, Treasury and Interior. He had worked in Denver, Detroit, Utah, Alaska, Seattle, Oklahoma and Kansas City. Darryll ran two marathons, two triathlons and was an avid cyclist. He was also an excellent pool player, loved hiking, snow shoeing and traveling. He loved the outdoors, liked to keep moving, but his biggest passion was his two sons. Darryll will be mostly remembered for his outgoing nature and his sense of humor. He loved people but a select few held a special place in his heart. Darryll was a life member of the VFW Post 9401, the Eagles, the Elks and the American Legion. Darryll leaves behind his beloved wife whom he married on July 4, 1996, Dorothy Lombard of Lake Havasu City and one brother Francis Ernest Lombard of Mountain Home, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents Francis and Emma Lombard; two sons Mike and Mitch Lombard; brothers George and Pierre Lombard and sister Carol Jensen.
