The Daily Miner, Kingman, AZ - Published on December 18, 2011 - Nancy J. Crow died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011. She was 81 years old and the wife of Leon "Duke" C. Crow of Kingman. She moved to Kingman 21 years ago from La Habra, Calif. She was the daughter of Arthur J. and Elsie D. Morphy of Omaha, Neb. She is survived by her husband, Leon; her children, John Gurney of Houston, Jeffrey Gurney of Midlothian, Va., and Kristin Gurney of Los Angeles; four grandchildren; and her sister, Beverly Otis of Omaha. She was a member of the Junior League, P.E.O., and a graduate of Aurora University with a degree in elementary education. She taught in New York, Illinois, Los Angeles and Kingman. She was a member of the ballet board in Omaha, was on the decorating committee to restore the Orpheum Theatre for a performing arts theatre in Elmira, N.Y., and started a thrift shop in her church in Laconia, N.H., in 1972 that still operates today. Nancy began a dance club in Tigard, Ore., and owned a women's clothing store, so she flew into New York on buying trips every six weeks. She also served as a volunteer on the Foster Care Review Board in Kingman. Her hobbies were cooking, gardening, art and bridge. No service is planned. She will be missed by her family and many friends. Heart problems caused her death.
