West Valley View, Avondale, Arizona August 13, 2010 Dessie Mae Gamel, 87, of Avondale died Aug. 7, 2010. Mrs. Gamel was born April 9, 1923, in Miller Grove, Texas. She moved to Arizona in 1950 and has lived in Avondale since 1954. She was a housewife. She was involved with local charities, the Brownies and Girl Scouts. She is survived by one son, Kenneth D. of Avondale; and one daughter, Naomi Louise Symonds of Phoenix. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dee E.
