BENETEAU, Clarence Mark


The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Tuesday, July 22, 2003 Clarence Mark Beneteau, 81, of Amherstburg, Ontario, Canada and Sun City, Arizona passed away at his residence on July 19, 2003, with his loved ones at his side. "Ben" or "Sonny", as he was known to his parents and siblings was born on January 5, 1922 in Windsor, 0ntario, Canada and was raised in River Canard, Ontario. He served in the Canadian Army as a tank mechanic. He was a route driver for Viviano Wine Company in Highland Park, Michigan for most of his working life. After leaving there in 1979, he and his beloved wife, Catherine, moved to Phoenix, where they started a business of their own. In 1990 they returned to his birthplace to live, but continued to spend winters in Sun City. He loved animals, family BBQ's, remodeling old homes, boating, swimming and fishing. He also enjoyed listening to all kinds of music, singing, and playing the piano. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Catherine, sons Allan (Marie), David, Wayne (Hope); daughters Diane Attilio (Mario), Patricia Mallie (John), Lynne Smith (Norm). In addition he is survived by 18 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, plus 2 more great- grandchildren expected soon, 1 sister, and his beloved little dog, Chico. A memorial service will be held for the family and friends on Tuesday July 22, 2003 at St. Joachim and St. Anne Catholic Church at 11625 N. 111Th Avenue, Sun City at 10:00 A.M. The family wishes to thank everyone who helped care for Clarence. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Hospice of The Valley, 1510 E. Flower Street, Phoenix, Arizona 85014. Final arrangements were entrusted to Regency Mortuary.
