HAMRICK, LaVon

The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Tuesday, July 22, 2003 LaVon Reidhead Hamrick passed away July 16, 2003 at her home in Mesa. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great- great Grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt and friend. She was born October 31, 1908 to Charles Oscar Reidhead and Margaret (Maggie) Kay Reidhead. She was one of ten children, who grew up in Show Low, AZ at the Reidhead Home on Main Street. She married John Hubert Allen Jr. and had two children, Jo Ann Allen Cluff, and Herbert Vance Allen (Buzz), who preceded her in death. She loved playing the piano and dancing the night away. She inherited the name "Mug" by her grandson in her early life. Her four grandchildren are Randy, from Buena Vista, Virginia, Greg from Show Low, AZ, and Shelle from Rhode Island and Shanda from Aberdeen, Idaho. She had eighteen great grandchildren and seven great- great children, that she loved and enjoyed much. She is also survived by her sister, Loa Stewart and son-in-law Carl Cluff. She served on the Show Low School Board from 1947 to 1950. We will miss her love for life and family. Her services will be July 23, 2003, at the ShowLow Downtown Chapel at 10:00a.m., with a viewing on the evening July 22, 2003, from 6:30 to 8:00p.m. At Fletcher's Mortuary.
