HALL, Leland H. (Bud)

Mohave Daily News, Mohave Valley, AZ - Published in Mohave Daily News Online from Dec. 22 to Dec. 29, 2011 - Leland "Bud" Hall, age 86, of Bullhead City, Ariz., died Monday, December 19, 2011, in Las Vegas, Nev. He was born June 17, 1925 in Montgomery, Ala. Bud was a decorated veteran of WWII, serving in the United States Navy. After the war, he worked as an auto mechanic and eventually opened "Bud's Sporting Goods" in Baldwin Park, Calif. In 1960, he went to work for McCulloch Corporation in Los Angeles, Calif as General Manager of McCulloch Distributors. He soon joined the McCulloch Corporation racing team, where he raced hydro boats throughout the western United States, including the very early development of Lake Havasu by McCulloch. In 1982, he purchased McCulloch Distributors, and in 1985 moved the company from Los Angeles to Bullhead City, where he operated the business until his retirement at the age of 80 in 2005. Bud was a former Commodore of the San Pedro Yacht Club, former member of the Bullhead Kiwanis Noon Club, the Chaparral Country Club, the Bullhead Chamber of Commerce, and a 28 year member of the Elks Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Lela Hall; two sisters, Elva and Eunice; and brother, Wayne. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Cindy; daughter, Rori (Rod) Scott of Fort Mohave, Ariz.; four sisters, Peggy Coe, Helen Stanczak and Lois McLoudrey of Bullhead City, Ariz., and Hazel Kiska of Fullerton, Calif.; granddaughter, Shannon (Sean) Myers of Tijeras, N. M.; grandson, Roderick "Buddy" Leland Scott of Fort Mohave, Ariz.; five great-grandchildren and he was beloved "Uncle Bud" to fifty-six nieces and nephews. Interment will take place at the Southern Nevada Veteran's Cemetery in Boulder City, Nev., with a "Celebration of Life" to be announced at a date in the near future.
