Old Julian’s Death
Died, at Camp three, Arizona, December 15, 1898, Julian Lopez, a native of old Mexico, aged 85 years.
This old man was a rather white Mexican or Spaniard who lived in California when it was annexed to the United States, and for the past twenty-five years has been a member of the family of Wales Arnold, who with his wife had cared for him the last six or eight years at their own expense until two or three years ago, and while John Wood was a supervisor he got them an allowance of five dollars per month to pay for medical attendance, as they preferred to keep him rather than see the old man go to the poor house.
