Virginia M. Larkin
The family of Virginia Mae Larkin mourns her passing on Dec. 14, 2011, in Reno, Nev.
She is survived by three daughters, Susan Miller (Don) of Reno, Nev., Janis Cosgrove (Terry) of Naperville, Ill. and Beth Curtis (Jim) also of Reno Nev.; five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Lyle Larkin.
Born in a log cabin in Wisconsin on May 5, 1923, to Alonzo and Evelyn Brocklehurst, Virginia grew up and lived a good part of her life in Plymouth, Mich., where she and Richard raised three daughters. Virginia was a stay-at-home mom until her youngest daughter began high school, at which time she enrolled in nursing school to pursue her life-long dream.
When Dick retired, they moved to Prescott, Ariz. There they became avid horsemen and made many new friends through their riding club and through the United Methodist Church to which they belonged and sang in the choir.
Virginia had a rich and fulfilling life; she was an incredible and supportive wife and mother. She will be deeply missed, but lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
