RAKOW, Nancy Laree

(Maiden Name: Donham)

Nancy Laree Rakow was born in Pima on Sept. 29, 1950, and after a courageous battle with COPD, peacefully entered to rest May 30, 2007, in Tucson. She was the third of four daughters born to Emmett and Reba Donham and was raised and attended school in the Gila Valley. She was a CNA and loved working with people. Nancy faced many trials in her life and sought guidance and found comfort in the different religious leaders in the community and made her decisions through her faith in God. She always had a smile on her face and a place in her heart for everyone. She made friends wherever she went and was a stranger to no one. She will forever be in our hearts. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett Donham and Reba Crum, and her stepmother, Nellie Donham. She is survived by her son, Tony (Jenny) Battista of Thatcher; daughter, Lori (Manuel) Talavera of Pima; three sisters, Betty (David) Adkison of Texas, Arlene (Dennis) McGinnis of Safford and Debbie (Bill) Cherry of Safford; five step-brothers and sisters, Terry (David) Nelson of Safford, Ida (Kirby) Evans of Safford, Darlene (Chuck) Brooks of Pima, Ricky Scott of Safford and Guy (Christine) Donham of Safford; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were June 2, 2007, at Caldwell Chapel. Interment followed in the Pima Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to McDougal's Caldwell Chapel. Eastern Arizona Courier 2007/06/04/
