GENTRY, Sandra JoAnn


The Daily Miner, Kingman, AZ - Published on January 5, 2012 - Sandra JoAnn Gentry was born Jan. 22, 1973, in Flagstaff, and was called to be with her Lord and Savior on Jan. 1, 2012. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Noal Reed Hopper of Kingman (with whom she now walks) and her father, Dale Wayne Gentry of California. Sandi is survived by two children, Mercedes Gentry-Caffey of Prescott Valley and Colton Gentry-Caffey of Kingman; grandmother, Nella Hopper and mother, JoAnn Gentry, both of Kingman; a sister, DeeAnna Gentry of Prescott Valley; a niece, Chevelle Anderson of Prescott Valley; two nephews, Kody Gentry of Kingman and Joey Bowman also from Prescott Valley. She has a half-sister, Paula Mann of Nevada; and two half-brothers, Mathew and Jesse Gentry, both of California. She has one uncle, Mike Hopper; one great-uncle, Junior McVey; and one great-aunt, Delpha Pierson, all of Kingman; as well as multiple cousins. Sandi grew up and attended her school years in Kingman finishing her education at AIBT with a degree in business and computers. She had many loves, aside from her family; she loved music, camping and fishing, riding three-wheelers and frogs, which she said means "forever rely on God." She developed a love for dump trucks while doing the business work for her mother's business where she ultimately learned to drive one. A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, at First Pentecostal Church of God, 4087 N. Eagle Drive, Kingman, where she grew up under Pastor Owen and Faye Schultz, ending with Pastor Bruce and Terri Grimmett. A reception will follow the services at the church.
