MATASTASIO, Pietro Robert (Pete)

The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ December 10, 2008, P. A11 Pietro Robert “Pete” Matastasio, Jr., age 74, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home in Wickenburg, Ariz., on Dec. 5. Born in Altoona, Penn., he later moved to Baltimore, Md., where he married Barbara Via and raised four children. He worked as a welder most of his life; a jack-of-all-trades, he could fix anything. He loved the outdoors, so upon retiring to Wickenburg he joined the Gold Prospectors Association of America and happily spent his last few years digging for gold in the desert. Pete was one of a kind and will be missed by his children Susan Ratliff, Donald Matastasio, Tina Cliffe, grandchildren Garrison Ratliff, Lauren Matastasio and Amanda, Elise and Christian Cliffe, sisters Mary Delfosse and Sarah Baum, and many family and friends he touched. He was preceded in death by daughter Laura Matastasio in 1978. At his request no services will be held.
