BEECROFT, Lorena Janet

The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Sunday, July 27, 2003 Lorena Janet Boyd Beecroft, age 91, of Payson, Arizona, died July 24, 2003. She was born April 27, 1912 in Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia, daughter of the late Robert Mair Boyd and Celestine Stella Lizon Boyd. Her grandfather immigrated to America from Scotland, and her mother, from Liege, Belgium. She began her career as a telephone operator with the Chesapeak and Potomac Telephone Company in Elm Grove, and later in Woodsdale, West Virginia, before moving to Phoenix, Arizona in 1955. Mrs. Beecroft and her late husband has had a summer home in Thompson Draw II, Payson, Arizona since 1957. She retired from Mountain States Telephone company in Phoenix in 1968, with 37 years of service. She was a member of The Telephone Pioneers of America and the Telephone Retirees Association of Arizona. Mrs. Beecroft was preceeded in death by her husband, Floyd Edmund Beecroft in 1992. Also by one sister, Marcella Boyd Teufel; one brother, Robert James Boyd; and one stepsister, Katheryn Ann Larimer Flinn. Surviving are one son, Floyd Dale Beecroft, and his wife, June, of Payson. Arizona; two grandsons, Allen Dale Beecroft, and his wife, Marcie, of Phoenix, and David Robert Beecroft, and his wife, Karen, of Chandler, Arizona: two great-grandchildren, Danial and Kelli Beecroft, of Chandler. Visitation will be 6-8PM, Monday, July 28, 2003, at Hansen Chapel, 8314 N 7th St., Phoenix, Az. Interment at Phoenix, Memorial Park.
