Margaret (Peg) Helen Marcacci was a Phoenix area resident for 42 years.
She and her husband Jim came to Arizona in 1961 from their home in
Dwight, IL where they owned the James Candy and Tobacco Warehouse. After
arriving in Arizona they owned the Wabash Trailer Park in Sunny-slope
until the early 1990s. Born September 26, 1917 in Moline, Illinois, Peg
was the only child of Winifred Lloyd and Ester Gustafson. She was an
avid golfer, bridge player and member of both the Mountain Shadows and
Ariz-ona Country Clubs. Before losing Jim in February 2000, they had
been married for 59 years. Peg is survived by her daughter, son and
their spouses: Barbara and Andy Engelhardt of Paradise Valley, AZ,
Philip and Lee Marcacci of Alta Loma, CA; 4 grand-children: Kenneth and
Steph-en Marcacci, Andrea Sherwood and Alexandra Zuccaro, and 3 great-
grandchildren: Devon Sherwood and Braden and Anthony Zuccaro.
A visitation will be held at the Whitney and Murphy Arcadia Funeral Home
Chapel, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix, on Thursday, July 31st,
2003 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.
The funeral will be Friday, August 1, 2003 at St. Theresa Catholic
Church, 5045 E. Thomas Road, Phoenix, at 10:00 AM.
Interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery, 2033 N. 48th Street,
Phoenix.
Family and friends are invited to join Barbara and Philip at the Arizona
Country Club, 5668 E. Orange Blossom Lane, Scottsdale, for a celebration
lunch at 12:00 Noon.
The family has requested that donations in memory of Peg be sent to the
Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014
