William Earl Moody departed this life on July 20, 2003. He was born on
February 8, 1927 and was a native Arizonan. His kind heart and love for
his family and friends will be remembered. He was preceded in death by
his wife of 25 years, Vivian Moody. He enlisted in the United States
Navy when he was fifteen years old and served in the South Pacific
during World War II. He survived the Japanese attack on his aircraft
carrier, the USS Princeton and loved attending the reunions of the
Princeton survivors. Bill was an avid history buff and outdoorsman. He
flew his own plane and loved camping and boating on Lake Powell. After
41 years with Salt River Project as a Line Department Trouble Shooter,
Bill retired. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of
Electrical Workers, Local 266. He is survived and will be deeply missed
by his son, Larry Moody (Gail), stepdaughters, Colleen LeGrand (Rick),
Nancy Roodhouse, Betty Schaffer, Rebecca Anderson (Dick), Robin LaCorte
(Brian); and stepson Mark Roodhouse; twenty-one grandchildren and four
great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, August 1 at the National
Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 North Cave Creek Road, Phoenix,
Arizona
