MORRIS, Sherwin (Pete)

The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Sunday, July 27, 2003 Sherwin "Pete" Morris, 82, passed away July 22, 2003. Pete was born August 22, 1920 in Bangor, Pennsylvania to John Jay & Edna Grace (Puder) Morris. He was a WWII veteran who served his country honorably in The Army-Air Corps. A valley resident since 1960, Pete had a successful career with AT&T until his retirement in 1984. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and a loan officer with Telco Federal Credit Union. Pete was preceded in death by Ann, his wife and sweetheart of 55 years. He is survived by his son, Peter Morris (Roxanne); daughters: Patricia Morris, Pamela Surgener (Stephen), Karen Spaulding (Gerry); sister, Catherine; twin brother, Stewart; 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. Pete was a devoted husband and father and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. The funeral mass will be held 10 AM, Tuesday, July 29, 2003 at St. Steven's Catholic Church, 24827 S. Dobson Road in Sun Lakes where visitation will be 1 hour prior. Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Mesa. Memorial Contributions to The St. Vincent de Paul Society, 420 W. Watkins St., Phoenix, AZ 85003 have been suggested by his family. Arrangements by Bueler Mortuary.
