PARRY, Nina Belle

East Valley Tribune, Tempe, Arizona Saturday, July 26, 2003 After a long and happy life, Nina Belle Tenney Parry of Prescott, Arizona returned to her Heavenly Father on July 18, 2003. She was born on Decemter 21, 1916 in High Creek, Arizona. the sixth of ten children, Nina Belle learned to work hard and enjoyed life to its fullest. She graduated from Prescott High School in 1937. A call from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints took her to the Northern States Mission where she served as the mission secretary to President Bryant S. Hinckley. there she met Elder Richard A. Parry of Salt Lake City, Utah. After their missions, they dated and then married on August 29, 1939. She assisted her husband in his academic pursuit of a PhD from Northwestern University. Twenty-two years later she finished her own MA in Education. Eight children were born and received the blessing of an exceptionally happy home life. with her numerous talents, Nina Belle touched the lives of children as a Prescott public school teacher and was especially gifted in working with teenagers. She provided many youth with worthwhile activities by involving them in drama and dance festivals. In 1964, she took a group of fifty youth to the New York World's Fair. To pay for their food and lodging, the group performed roadshows in the main cities along the way. She has left a great legacy of service and faithfulness to god and will be remembered with love by her six surviving siblings, eight children, 43 grandchildren, and 31 great-grand- children. A celebration of her life will be held in Prescott, Arizona on Saturday, August 2, 2003 at the ruth Street chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 11 AM. A family receiving line will be from 10:00 to 10:45 AM prior to the service.
