RIDNOUR, Homer C.


Homer C. Ridnour, 84, died Saturday, June 2, 2007 in Sun City, Arizona. Born October 11, 1922 in Heidrick, Kentucky to Dan and Fannie Ridnour he was the youngest of ten children. Prior to World War II he was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps and enlisted into the Army in January, 1943, where he participated in the Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe campaigns. He also served with the 8th Army Air Corps in England and later on Kwajalein Island in the Pacific. He remained with the Army Air Corps when it became the United States Air Force serving in Germany, Morocco, Alaska and Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. He retired in 1964 as a Technical Sergeant. After retiring from the Air Force, he drove a truck for National Trailer Convoy and in 1972 moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where he worked as a salesman for Chapman Chevrolet. In 1985 he married Catherine Blazevic-Smith. Homer was a member of the Black Canyon City Veterans of Foreign Wars and active in the Air Force Association. He is survived by his wife and one son, Daniel C. Ridnour, a retired Army officer who works for the United States Department in Frankfurt, Germany; three stepchildren; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Memorial services followed by interment will be held at Sunland Mortuary, 15826 N. Del Webb Boulevard in Sun City, Arizona, 623-933-0161, on Saturday, June 9, 20076.
