Burl Edwin Ford of Chandler, beloved husband of Wanda Ford for 51 years,
left this life in peace at the age of 68. He was preceded in death by
his parents, Calvin and Lilly and grandson Mathew. He will be missed by
his best friend and love of his life, Wanda. Burl is survived by his
sister, Gwen (Lloyd) Taylor of Phoenix, his two sons, Ken (Judi) of
Maple Grove, MN, David (Maria) of Glendale, AZ, three granddaughters
Jennifer (Shawn) Svihl, Michelle (Carlos) Avalos, Mindy (Emet) Medina,
two step grandsons, Nathan Spring and Aaron Funk, four great
grandchildren, Ashley and Courtney Svihl, Charisma and Dominic Medina
with Sebastian Avalos expected soon, plus numerous friends and
relatives. Burl served in the Naval Reserve from 1952 to 1960 and was
honorably discharged as a gunners mate third class. He was an avid
outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing with his family and friends.
Burl retired from Pacific Motoring Truck Lines in 1983 to care for his
ailing mother. He was a proud member of the Teamsters Union Local 104.
Funeral services will be at Carr Tenney Mortuary at 2621 S. Rural Rd. in
Tempe on Tuesday July 29 at 11 AM.
Visitation will be at 9:30 AM. Burl's final resting place will be at
East Rest-haven in Phoenix.
