STANNEART, Jackie Joe

Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, Arizona Wednesday, January 11, 2012 Jackie Joe Stanneart, Sr., 79 (just a bit shy of 80), passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012 surrounded by his family. He was born in Central Heights (Globe), Ariz. on March 11, 1932. He was a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a friend to so many. Jackie retired from Inspiration Consolidated Copper Company after 28 years of service as the Warehouse Foreman at the smelter. Jackie (CPO) also served proudly in the United States Navy during the Korean War and Desert Storm; and after 32 years of both active duty and reserves he (reluctantly) retired. He joined the Elks on Feb. 2, 1961 and during those 50+ years he served/volunteered in many capacities including P.E.R. (Past Exalted Ruler). He was a member of the Central Heights Fire Department for over 25 years. During his lifetime he enjoyed being a Boy Scout Master, member of the American Legion, fishing and hunting, water skiing, camping, bowling and wood-working. When he retired at the young age of 54, he enjoyed attending various activities of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also volunteered at Heritage Health Care Center for numerous years even after his mother passed away. He spent time by working at Plaza Bowl, doing odd maintenance jobs for several apartment owners, and helping anyone that he could with anything they needed before they would even ask. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel “Blackie” and Ada Stanneart, and his brother Edward “Sonny” Stanneart. He also had a brother, Carson, and sister, Emily, who died shortly after their births. Jackie leaves behind in loving memory his wife, Grace; and three children JoLee Stanneart, Jackie (Terri) Stanneart, Jr. of Globe; and David (Renee) Stanneart of Scottsdale; six grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Monday, Jan, 9, 2012 at Miles Funeral Services Globe Chapel, 237 S. Sutherland Street, in Globe, Ariz. Interment was held at Pinal Cemetery, Main Street in Central Heights, Arizona. Funeral arrangements for Jackie J. Stanneart, Sr. were entrusted to Miles Funeral Services Globe.
