THOMANN, Erna Lou (Louise)

Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, Arizona Thursday, January 12, 2012 Louise Sucha-Thomann, 86, of Flagstaff died peacefully after a long illness January 8, 2012 at the Olivia White Hospice House, surrounded by her family and friends. Louise was born Erna Lou Shipley to Ernest and Louise Shipley on September 26, 1925 in Omaha, Nebraska. She spent her childhood in Gillette, Wyoming, moving back to Omaha for her high school years. After graduating, she met and married Donald Bowley by whom she had one son, Daniel. When Daniel became seriously ill in the late 50's, the family moved to Phoenix, Arizona under doctor's orders. In the early 80's, she moved to her favorite place on earth, Flagstaff. There she would later marry her longtime friend James A. Sucha. After his death, she met and married Dennis Thomann of Flagstaff. Dennis passed away in 2010. As a young woman, Louise had been an avid musician, bowler and champion archer. In Flagstaff, she loved working in elder care for the county, and finding time to paint, hike, fish, camp and being a rockhound. She is survived her son Daniel Ernest Bowley and wife Andra Anderson of Santa Clarita, CA; their children Christopher Bowley and wife Jennifer of New River; Heather Bowley Dillon of Phoenix; Megan Madden-Bowley of Santa Clarita, CA; Carson Bowley of San Francisco, CA; Kristen Anderson Titiriga and husband Vincent of Santa Clarita, CA; and Erik Anderson of Ponchatoula, LA. ; and step-children Michael Thomann of Buffalo, NY; Dennis Thomann of the Philippines; Timothy Thomann of Huston, TX; and Doug Thomann and wife Cindy of Flagstaff. Rosary will be Friday 7pm at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be Saturday at 9am also at the Church with burial to follow at Citizens Cemetery.
