James Thomas (Jimbo) Finnegan
May 12, 1940 — Dec. 13, 2011
Jimbo, as he was known by all, passed away peacefully at home at the age of 71. Jimbo was a unique individual; one of those rare characters that you instantly liked. He lived his life to the fullest and he loved spending time with friends, watching sports and charming the ladies. He would always say to the ladies, "You must have taken your pretty pills today." What a charmer he was. He had a heart of gold and was full of wit and wisdom. He was a humble man, a hardworking man, and a man rich with life experiences.
He came to Lake Havasu City 25 years ago and had a variety of jobs over the years. He worked at Big John's, Acoma Van and Storage, and for the Airshow Network to name a few. No matter where he went, undoubtedly there was someone he knew. We were all blessed to have known him and he will be dearly missed. Knowing Jimbo, he would say, "Don't be sad, instead have a party, drink lots, tell stories and celebrate his life.” So we will raise our glasses and toast one of the most memorable people we will ever know.
Jimbo is survived by his son, James Finnegan Jr.; daughter, Donna Torborg; sister and brother-in-law Toby and Joe Marzullo; and 15 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, John Finnegan; his mother, Anna (Katie) Cole; his sister, Susie Woodbury and his brother, Johnny Finnegan.
A celebration of his life get together will take place Saturday, Jan. 14 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Pat and Barb's house, 124 S. Smoketree Ave.
