The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 01/13/2012 Viola C. Ramirez, 75, resident of St. Johns died peacefully in Phoenix Jan. 8, 2012. She was born Sept. 8, 1936, in St. Johns to Anastacio and Espidiona Chavez. Viola married Manuel Ramirez May 22, 1954 and they were blessed with five children. She loved everyone unconditionally and welcomed all to her home with open arms. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Viola enjoyed playing bingo and scratching her lottery tickets. She religiously prayed the Rosary and prayed to our Lord and St. Jude everyday. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Manuel; children: Pam DeVall, Audrey (Tim) Hutter, Deborah Ramirez, Brenda (Rocky) Forbes, Manuel (Kelli) Ramirez; an adopted daughter Melissa Russell; a sister, Sophie Montoya, a brother, Anastacio (Jr) Garcia; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. “Our Guardian Angel is now watching over all of us.” Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, 2012 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, St. Johns. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, also at the church. Interment will follow at St. Johns Catholic Cemetery. Burnham Mortuary of St. Johns handled arrangements.
