The Yuma Sun January 14, 2012 David A. Brown (Quechan / Cocopah) at age 65, was called home to rest on Wednesday, January 11, 2012. He was born August 8, 1946. David was raised and lived his life on the Cocopah Reservation. He worked for the Cocopah Tribe in various positions for 20 years. He was a hard working man who kept himself busy but always had time for his children. He was truly blessed with the love of family and will be sorely missed. David is survived by his 5 children; daughters, Delia (Dale) Jim, Clarissa (Jason) Brown, Lydia Brown, Octavia (Peter) Brown; son, Matthew (Shanel) Brown; sister, Barbara Brown all of Somerton, AZ. Also 15 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Peter Bixler, Dale Jim Sr., Philbert Miller Jr., Christopher Brown, Loren Phillips, Ysmeal Valenzuela, Raul Contreras, and Daniel De La Peña. Honorary Pallbearers are Matthew Brown, Eric Brown, Aaron Brown, Wesley Brown Jr., Alvin Nichols, Patrick Brown Jr., Woodrow Brown, Norman Osborn, Gordan Osborn, Douglas Osborn, Marlo Barley Sr., George Hayes Jr., Jason San Diego, Mark Kelly and Florentino Ruby. Viewing will be held at 1:00 p.m. followed by services at 2:00 p.m. at Yuma Mortuary on Sunday, January 15, 2012. Tribal Ceremony to follow at 4:00p.m. Quechan Big House.
