Eleanor Powell passed away Saturday, December 24, 2011 in Yuma. She was born on November 10, 1921. Eleanor was a teacher in Kelso, Washington. She and husband Ivan moved to Yuma where she later became a desert artist and served in various church and volunteer roles. She loved Jesus Christ, art, poetry, music and people. Eleanor is survived by son, Michael of Rainier, OR; 3 grandchildren, Carson Powell, Valla Dia Seel and Dawn Marie Peed as well as 5 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a brother, Robert Cooper. Services will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church on Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. Published in The Yuma Sun on January 7, 2012
