HACKETT, Adeline

Dr. Adeline Johnson Hackett, 84, of Mesa, Arizona passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2007. Adeline was born in Rosetown, Saskatchewan on January 6, 1923. Adeline was preceded in death by her parents, John and Florence Johnson; three brothers, John, Leonard and Edwin; and her husband, William F. Hackett. Survivors include her son, William; and brother, Glenn. Adeline graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1965, with a doctorate in Genetics. She was a Research Virologist, at University of California from 1965 to 1982. She was an Executive Director of Peralta Cancer Research Institute from 1982 to 1993. She will be missed by loved ones and colleagues. She will be remembered as one who cared for all and the Mother of Modern Cell Biology. Adeline requested no services.
