JOHNSON, Barbara K.


Barbara K Johnson passed away peacefully September 26, 2011, at the age of 76, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Barb was born in Boston, MA and as a child adored her horses and photography which included developing her own pictures. After marrying the love of her life, they moved out west. After her husbands premature death, she became a Yuma Regional Medical Center Auxiliary Pink Lady. She then attended nursing school and spent her career working on the cardiac floor at Yuma Regional. She was a woman of faith who loved her Lord, Barb's last alert moment was spent praying. Her favorite chapter Psalm 139 "How precious to me are your thoughts, O God!" Barb is survived by her son, David A. (Lynda) Johnson of New Mexico and daughters Alison "Penny" (William, Jr.) Esmeier, and Karen E. Johnson, both of Yuma. Grandsons Donald Johnson, William Scott, Andrew Esmeier, and granddaughter Amy Esmeier. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald F. Johnson. "It is one thing to go through a crisis grandly, but another thing to go through every day glorifying God when there is no witness, no limelight, no one paying the remotest attention to us..." -Oswald Chambers The family would like to thank Hospice of Yuma for all they do and Barb and Deb for their special friendship.
