JOHNSON, Danny Eugene

Danny Johnson, 69, of Yuma , passed away Saturday, August 7, 2010, at Yuma Regional Medical Center. He was born April 23, 1941, in Jackson, Minnesota, to Harold and Evelyn Johnson. 

Danny was united in marriage to Dona Emerson on November 9, 1963, in Spirit Lake, Iowa.

Danny graduated from Jackson High School in 1959. He served his country in the United States Air Force. Prior to moving to Arizona, he worked in Spencer, IA for the City Sanitation. Danny and his wife retired from foster parenting after 27 years, caring for over 200 foster children in Dickens, Iowa and Yuma. He enjoyed many things in his life like; fishing, hunting, camping, football, a good book and spending quality time with his family.

Danny is survived by his wife, Dona of Yuma; his mother, Evelyn Johnson of Spirit Lake, Iowa; two daughters, Stacy McKee and Robin La Mee who reside in Yuma; a son, Scott (Peggy) Johnson of Spencer, Iowa; sister, Mary Aldridge of Spirit Lake, Iowa; brother, Bruce, and (Kathy) Johnson of Welcome, Minnesota; five granddaughters and two grandsons, two great-granddaughters, a great-grandson and many, many more children, family and friends.
