STENSRUD, John P.

West Valley View, Avondale, Arizona John Stensrud, 48, of Avondale died Aug. 13, 2006. Mr. Stensrud was born Nov. 19, 1957, in Elgin, Ill., to Darlene and John, and moved to Arizona in 2002. Mr. Stensrud had been a Navy chaplain, and served in the Army 82nd Airborne during the Cold War. He also was a pastor at numerous American Baptist churches in the Midwest. The Rev. Stensrud is survived by his wife, Aimee; one daughter, Suzanne Dahlgren of Greely, Colo.; one son, Lance Cpl. John Stensrud of Cherry Point, N.C.; and one sister, Jessica of Rhode Island. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at Vineyard Christian Fellowship West Valley, 13770 W. Van Buren St. Memorials may be sent to Vineyard Christian Fellowship West Valley, 13770 W.
