The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, December 30, 2008 Gwendolyn Ruth Hilbrands, 55, of Prescott, Ariz., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Dec. 26, 2008. Gwen was born July 1, 1953, in Grand Rapids, Mich., to Don And Leone Holkeboer and attended area schools and went on to earn her Airline Management degree from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in 1981. She worked for Continental Airlines in Denver and Houston before marrying Arie Hilbrands and moving to Arizona in 1985. Gwen served as school secretary for 12 years at Faith Christian School, Mesa, Ariz., and moved to Prescott in 2005. She is preceded in death by her father Donald Holkeboer and brother Charles Holkeboer. She is survived by her husband Arie Hilbrands; mother Leone Holkeboer; brothers and sisters Carol Holkeboer, Tom and Kathy Holkeboer, Jim and Sue Holkeboer, Mary and Larry Carpenter; four children and nine grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 13601 W. Aleppo Dr., Sun City West, Ariz. Information provided by survivors.
