Walter Edward Lorenzen, 88, of Phoenix and formerly Tolleson died Aug. 26, 2010.
He was born Aug. 8, 1922, in Tea, S.D., and was raised in Sioux City, Iowa. He moved to Arizona in 1959. He was an Army veteran who served from 1942 to 1946. He was stationed in Europe during World War II and hauled ammunition and supplies in a heavy truck.
He married Alice Katherine Ahlquist Nov. 15, 1944.
He worked for Amstan Supply and Hajoca Corp. as a warehouse foreman and purchasing agent.
He is survived by three daughters, Judith Reed of Washington, Jean Bothof of Tolleson, and Katherine Wilkerson of Phoenix; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. today at Crystal Rose Funeral Home, 9155 W. Van Buren St., Tolleson.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at West Resthaven Park Mortuary and Cemetery, 6290 W. Northern Ave., Glendale.
