Mervin R. Pilcher, 91, of Goodyear died July 24, 2006.
Mr. Pilcher was born Sept. 14, 1914, in McCool, Miss. He raised his family in southern California and moved to Tucson in 1972.
Mr. Pilcher worked as a construction manager for Bechtel Power Corp. at Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station in Tonopah. During his time with Bechtel, he and his wife, Ethel, traveled to South Korea and Richland, Wash.
After his retirement in 1983, the couple relocated to Litchfield Park, where Mr. Pilcher lived for 22 years before moving last year to St. Thomas Lutheran Ministries Assisted Living Home in Goodyear.
Mr. Pilcher was preceded in death in 1992 by his wife, Ethel.
He is survived by four daughters, Becky Arambel of Buckeye, Joan Fisher, Judy Meade and Merilyn Pettro; and six grandchildren.
A service was held at St. Thomas Lutheran Ministries Assisted Living Home, where the Rev. William Meier officiated. Memorials may be sent to St. Thomas Lutheran Church, 16200 W. Van Buren St., Goodyear, AZ 85338.
