Kierin Chantel Aquila, 18, passed away Sunday Dec. 4. She was born on March 2, 1993 in Tuba City. She lived in Page most of her life, and some in Texas with her father and older sister.
Kierin graduated early from high school, on Dec. 17, 2010. She liked to spend time with her friends, but most of all she loved to be with her family. She liked playing video games, board games, watching movies and just being silly.
Kierin’s family and friends have described her as a gentle spirit, spitfirepowerhouse, awesome girl, best friend, one of a kind, fun, loving and always happy.
Kierin is survived by her mother, Annette Aquila and Thom Yeoman, her father, Shane Rankin, her daddy, Dave Emmons; her seven brothers, Chris Aquila, Skyler Emmons, Joseph, Aaron, Isaac, Shawn and Prestin Smith; and four sisters, Jessica Rankin, Courtney Emmons, Michaela and Nicole Smith. She is also survived by her uncles, Anthony, Ashoka and Amar Aquila and Jackson Whitney; aunts, Carrie and Carolee Aquila; cousins, Bailey, Nicolas, Nataanii, Antonio and Adrianna Aquila. She is also survived by her maternal grandmother, Ann Aquila, paternal grandparents, Jack Whitney and Sheila Murray, and her great-grandmother, Ann Murray. She has many other family members as well.
Kierin was preceded in death by her “papa” Tony Aquila.
Services were held on Dec. 9 at the Faith Bible Chapel. Kierin was laid to rest at Page Cemetery in Page.
