Dorothy May McNeil was born in Springfield, Mass. Aug. 28, 1916. She lived in Honolulu, Hawaii, for more than 60 years and considered that her home.
She worked as a treasurer and accountant for First United Methodist Church in Honolulu up until the age of 90, when she retired and moved to Page to live with her daughter.
She stayed active in her favorite hobby of Eggery, as well as her volunteer work at her church with Healthy Meals at Page Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Redell Eugene McNeil, 36, in 1968.
She is survived by her siblings Marie Spears, 92, Richard Dewsnap, 87, and Howard Dewsnap, 86. Her loving son and daughter, Pono McNeil of Pearl City, Hawaii, and MorningStar Wilson of Page as well as her son-in-law Vernon Joe. She is also survived by her grandchildren Forrest Wilson, Kamaleilani Moreno, Tiane McNeil, Kealaula-Cockett McNeil and Kaile Choi as well as her great grandchildren Malia Moreno and Kekoa Moreno.
A celebration of her life was held at her daughter’s home on Saturday, Oct. 16 with pastor Evelyn Roberts presiding.
A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church, in Honolulu on Saturday, Nov. 12 and she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband at Punchbowl Military Cemetary in Honolulu, Hawaii.
