He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Janice and Jerald Loukota, and his brother, Allen Dean Loukota.
In 1972, at the age of 19, Doug moved with his family to Page, Ariz. In Page, he worked as a butcher for Babbitt’s and Rudy’s Market during the pioneer days and later went to work as a custodian for the Page Unified School District. It wasn’t long before he found his lifelong love, Felicia Linker. They were married June 4, 1977 and were soon on their way to starting a family. In 1985 after the birth of his first two daughters, Melissa and Melinda, he moved with his family to Phoenix, Ariz. where his daughter Janice was born.
Aside from his love for cats, his favorite pastimes were pheasant hunting in South Dakota and fishing on Lake Powell. However, his love for his family was foremost in his life. Doug was a dedicated and loving husband of 34 years. His genuine love for his family truly shined with the newest arrival of his new granddaughter Shante, born in 2009. He will be missed dearly by those who have loved him.
A Memorial Service is being held for Doug Aug. 9 for his friends and family at 10 a.m. at St. Jerome’s Catholic Church, 10815 N 35th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85029. Cards may be sent to 10016 N 87th Drive, Peoria, AZ 85345.
