Dr. Francesca Good, DVM, 50, of Page left us Wednesday, June 15, 2011.
Dr. Good was born Sept. 16, 1960 in Chicago, Ill. and was the daughter of Henry Good and June Kawter.
Francesca graduated from Sullivan High School in Chicago in 1977 and received her bachelor degree at Lake Forest College in 1981.
She then continued her studies and was awarded the degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Wisconsin on May 16, 1993.
Her love was emergency medicine, and she was licensed to practice in Wisconsin, Oregon, Alaska and Utah.
Doctor Fran, as her friends called her, was a veritable sponge for knowledge.
She wanted to learn it all and was never found away from her books.
While exploring her love of the outdoors, she suffered a climbing accident in Oregon in 1999 which hindered her ability to practice, but her ability and desire to help never left.
Francesca’s interests were as unlimited as her thirst for knowledge.
She was a brilliant diagnostician, a self made artist in wood, paints, chalk and pencil, a great lover of music from the classical to Aerosmith, and she possessed the singing voice of a star.
All of her talents were fired by an invincible spirit.
She struggled daily with her physical condition and fought every day of her life to be the best at everything she loved.
Dr. Fran left the stage in the middle of her song, and all that knew her are less for her absence and so much more for having known her.
Francesca is survived by a step-sister, Dr. Dina Levin of Vermont, and is preceded in death by her parents.
A gathering of her friends will be held in Page at a date to be determined.
