Terry R. “Pops” Rood was born on Aug. 12, 1953, in Hamilton, N.Y., and he passed away on Jan. 31, 2011. He served in the Navy on the U.S.S. Springfield from 1972 until 1976.
Terry raised his children and witnessed the birth of his grandchildren in Utah. From there, he lived in Colorado and then moved to Arkansas, where he met his wife, Kathy, before coming to Page.
Terry enjoyed his NASCAR, cooking wonderful foods, and Monday night men’s bowling. (Terry did bowl for a 500 score!) He also loved fishing and driving his big trucks. Most of all, he loved his grandchildren, who took his heart.
Terry is survived by his wife, Katherine, his son, Terry “T”, his daughter, Heather Criswell, and eight grandchildren.
A prayer service will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church on Saturday, Feb. 19, at 11 a.m. A celebration of his life will follow at The Bowl from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a special account has been set up at National Bank of Arizona.
