YANEZ, Mary

Mary S. Yanez, 82, of Buckeye died July 14, 2006, in Goodyear. Mrs. Yanez was born Jan. 13, 1924, in Buckeye to Petra and Alberto Sernas. She married Joe Yanez Jr. in February 1941, and the couple made their home in Buckeye as well. Over the years, Mrs. Yanez worked for the Marshall Long family, Buckeye Elementary School, as a cook and for the late Dr. Luis Mena. Mrs. Yanez was preceded in death by her husband, Joe. She is survived by four daughters, Barbara of Georgia and Nellie, Carmen ("Cammie") and Mary Ellen ("Peach"), all of Buckeye; three sons, Joe, Robert and Manuel; one sister, Beatrice; four brothers, Frank, Manuel, Frank ("Chacho") and Lee; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Visitation and a rosary recital will precede the celebration of a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. today at St. Henry Catholic Church, 128 S. Third St. in Buckeye. Interment will be at Louis B.
