MILENSKI, Shirley

Shirley Milenski, 70, of Avondale died July 3, 2006. Mrs. Milenski was born Nov. 5, 1935, in La Junta, Colo., to Margaret and J. W. Lance. She graduated from La Junta High School and married Pat Milenksi in 1953. Mrs. Milenski worked at Fort Lyon Veteran's Administration Medical Center for many years before retiring as the cemetery director at Fort McPherson in Maxwell, Neb. She later worked part-time at the Arkansas Valley Hospice for five years before she and her husband retired to Avondale in 2001. Mrs. Milenski is survived by her husband, Pat; two daughters, Gayle Dowdy of Avondale and Inga Krawczenko of Goodyear; one son, Michael Milenski of Goodyear; two sisters, Gwen Bush of Vacaville, Calif., and Laverne Christensen of Murrieta, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A Mass was celebrated Monday at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church in Sun City. Memorials may be sent to Arkansas Valley Hospice, 118 W. Fourth St., La Junta, CO 81050.
